Answers to the questions most often asked about MDP.
Is MDP a bank?
No. MDP is a non-deposit-taking financial company, licensed by the Central Bank of Timor-Leste. Our activity focuses on providing credit and financing solutions, but we do not take deposits from the public.
Is MDP already fully operating?
MDP holds a preliminary licence from the BCTL and is in the phase of building its operational structure. Full activity will begin after verification of the applicable regulatory conditions.
What kind of financing solutions do you offer?
Vehicle and equipment leasing, consumer credit, invoice financing, short-term business credit and home loans in partnership with G&S.
Who can apply for credit from MDP?
Individuals and businesses in Timor-Leste who meet the criteria set by our internal credit policies. All applications are subject to risk analysis and to MDP's approval.
How is credit analysis carried out?
The analysis considers the client’s repayment capacity, financial history, the purpose of the financing and other factors defined in our credit policy. We request the necessary documentation and carry out a prudent and responsible assessment.
Does MDP share my data with third parties?
Client data is treated confidentially. Sharing occurs only in legally provided situations (supervisory bodies, competent authorities, etc.) or when expressly authorised by the client.
How do I submit a complaint?
Through the official channels — in person, by post, e-mail (reclamacoes@mdp.tl) or via the website form. All complaints are reviewed and answered within the legal period.
Are MDP and G&S the same company?
No. They are distinct, legally independent companies, both members of the ETO Group. G&S is MDP’s partner in the home-lending segment, but each company operates under its own structure and responsibility.
